Description:
Jonah is shown being spat out of the whale on the shores by the city of Nineveh, the gates of which are visible to the left. The position of his hands seem to indicate his acceptance of the orders from God (shown by an arm emerging from the clouds) to go and deliver his gloomy phrophecy to that city.
