Description:
Right hand panel of the scene of the saint's funeral. According to Sulpitius,
on the day Martin died, St Ambrose, the Bishop of Milan, fell asleep while
celebrating mass in his own cathedral. On being woken, he told his colleague
that he's been busy attending to the obsequies at Martin's funeral. Here
he is shown using an aspergus to sprinkle holy water from a situla held
by a deacon.:
