Description:
The left and central panels from a single scene. The right panel is clearly
different. In the endless apocrypha concerning the Magdalen's family,
Martha's maid Martilla is described as the writer of her mistress' biography
(see Golden Legend, Life of St Martha). Clement & Guitard identify
the two figures in the right hand panel as Martha and Martilla (Sainte
Marcelle), though only the former is firmly identified by her titulus.
