Panel 14 - Anthony lying like a corpse - and his friend carrying him back to the desert

This is one of the handful of examples of the 'simultaneous' mode of visual narrative, in which characters are repeated to show
more than one event in a single frame. It depicts two stages in the episode described by Athanasius in chapter 8 (see panel 12 for details)
On the right is Anthony, asleep on a stretcher, mourned by his friends and relatives. On the left, he appears again, now awake and looking
back at all this, while his comrade carries him back to his hermitage amongst the tombs.
