Description:
A wealthy childless couple had promised to donate a golden cup to St Nicholas'
shrine if they could conceive a son. When their prayers are answered,
the man cannot bring himself to part with the cup and has another made,
of similar value, planning to give this to the shrine instead. While travelling
to the shrine by ship, he sends his son to fetch water in the original
cup - but his son and the cup fall overboard (continued
