Description:
Genesis 44 tells how Joseph, to test his brothers further, orders his
steward to put the purchase price for their grain back into the mouths
of their sacks before their departure - but also to hide his precious
silver cup in the sack of his youngest brother, Benjamin. After the brothers
left, he then sent men after them to search their baggage. Here we see
the moment in Gen.44:12 - one of Joseph's men has found the cup and holds
it up in an accusatory fashion, while the unfortunate Benjamin pleads
his innocence, witnessed by two other brothers and Joseph's steward in
the left half of the scene (panel
