Interior scene, marked by simple low arcading and tiled roof.
Lower centre is a table or gaming board on which are two dice (a three and a one showing). To the left of the table is the
Prodigal, who has literally lost his shirt, and all his other belongings besides, to the gambler sitting across the table, whose
face has been replaced with a fragment of plain glass. There are several other areas of loss and stop-gaps - the jumble of
fragments lower right would probably have been his lost wealth while the red area behind the table is unclear.
The hostess stands behind the Prodigal, keeping a sharp eye on proceedings.
