Panel B4 - A family on pilgrimage to Santiago arrive at an inn
Just at the point where James is being led away to his execution, the narrative suddenly switches to the lengthy telling of a story
about a family on their pilgrimage to James's tomb at Santiago, who are calumniated by a dishonest inn-keeper. Whether this
interlude was a consious narrative device - or whether the panels have simply been shuffled somewhat during restoration, is
difficult to say. Either way, the story of the saint's martyrdom does not continue until the final panel (D6)
