Picture sales: Most of the images on this site are available
for commercial use - fees by negotiation. I can arrange delivery of originals
by mail or I can supply scans at any required resolution up to 4000dpi (using
a Nikon Coolscan 8000 film scanner). I can also supply accompanying text ranging
from short captions to full length articles.
Academic use: Provided I am notified in advance, I am normally
quite happy for my images to be used without charge for academic publications
and catalogues, though where possible, I would appreciate a copy of the publication.
Photographic details: Most of the travel photographs on this
site were shot on a Pentax 6x7 using Fujichrome Velvia transparancy film although
some of the images of Jordan and Syria, which were shot on a Wista VX 5x4
field camera.
The stained glass photographs were all shot using Nikon D1X and D2X digital
cameras and some very long lenses...
Dates: All these pictures were taken between 1996 and the present.
I used to spend 2-3 months a year travelling as an antidote to the tedium
of being a computer programmer for the rest of the year. In 2004 I gave up
work to study art history full time at the Courtauld Institute - since then
my photographic interests have almost entirely shifted to recording medieval
narrative art (the subject of my PhD), particularly stained glass, which will
increasingly be the focus of this web-site.
