ESTONIA ::: TALLINN

Toomkirik
A fine Lutheran church in Toompea (the castle district), St Mary's church (also known as the Dome church or Toomkirik) is the oldest church in Estonia and was founded by the Danes in 1219. The tower was built in 1779 and most of the interior dates from that period but the main structure of the church is 15th century. The church organ is the largest in Estonia, though when I was there it was undergoing an extensive renovation paid for by the German government.
