Bardejov, 80km North of Kosice is one of a number of pleasant little market towns which still retain much of their 'olde-worlde' charm. Although local buses are painfully slow, they are a very cheap way of exploring the area (but do watch out - they stop running quite early in the day and missing the last bus can be a real pain). Train services on the other hand are hopeless and usual mean very long detours. The Town Hall (1509) on the right of the picture houses a museum with a number of fine alterpieces, although there are some much better ones in the 14th century Church of St Egidius behind it.
