Riga - Notes

If you're coming from Tallin, Riga will feel like another world - it has much more of a 'big-city' atmosphere to it and far less Scandinavian influence. Personally I prefer Tallinn, but there is still plenty to see in Riga and some parts of town have a very European feel. The National Opera company are excellent and the newly restored Opera House puts on some highly innovative productions (tickets are ridiculously cheap compared to London prices but are usually sold out well in advance.)
