The ancient town or Areopolis or Rabbath-Moab lies on the King's highway, about 6 miles from Kerak. Though there's not much to see now, it was once an important Roman town on one of the strategic millitary roads. A few corinthian columns re-erected along the road and this Byzantine church are about all that's left.
