SYRIA ::: MAALULLA |
The hills and cliffs around Maalulla are riddled with natural and man-made caves, some of which date back to the earliest days of Christianity.
Some were used by hermits while others had a far more mundane purpose. These caves, just below the Convent or St Sergius (visible top left) are now
used as stables for the Convent's mules. Shot on the Wista VX 5"x4" with a 90mm Schneider Super Angulon. |
