Originally the entrance to the temple precincts would have been through an elegant triple-arched propyleum flanked by niches. Sadly most of this has been concealed by the 13th century fortification works.
This picture was taken late morning - the first couple of coach-loads of package tourists had just arrived and were being herded around, sheep-like, by their guides.
