Another view of the dome from the east. The dome, symbolising water, has 108 small niches around its base each containing a carving of the Dhyani Buddha Amitabha. The rust coloured stains are created by carefully throwing on bucketloads of coloured water and when seen from further away give the impression of lotus petals.
