Ignoring the contortionists for a moment, that carved window screen really is quite beautiful. Unfortunately most of the roof struts on the Basantapur tower are hard to get at. These examples are on the lower level, facing the square. Next time I go to Nepal I'll be taking a more powerful telephoto lens (so that I can photograph the window screens of course...)
