A view of the island from the other side of the causeway, where a small natural harbour is home to a thriving fishing community. The modern buildings around the base of the island were to have been a major new tourist development though the country's recent political problems seem to have put the brakes on this. I rather suspect the local authorities would have to do something about the smell of putrifying fish guts which pervades that stretch of shoreline before it would gain real acceptance as an international holiday resort.
