Sadly all the street scenes shown here were taken in the area of the old town north of the Suq al-Miln. Would be nice to show you the suqs themselves but frankly they are so crowded, chaotic and narrow that there was no way on earth that I was going to set up a medium format camera on a large tripod in the midst of it! Shame because being in the suq is a pretty amazing experience. It's also difficult to find spots where the view isn't ruined by tarpaulins and cables stretched across the street. Anyway, what you will see here are typical examples of Sana'a architecture - lots of whitewashing round ornamental windows, decorative brickwork and very tall buildings.
