One of my favourite pictures - sorry you have to make do with a low resolution jpeg as the original 6x7 transparency is lovely. I like the contrasting colours - the orange incandescent light from the door-way, the greenish fluorescent from the store, the blues of the dusk sky and the pin-pricks of coloured glass from the takhrim window set into the mosque's dome. Sadly though none of this comes across on this scan so you'll have to take my word for it... Anyway, the al-Mahdi Mosque is on the west bank of the Sa'ila near to the goldsmiths suq.
