YEMEN ::: SANA'A

Evening light by the Sa'ila - 1 of 2
The Sa'ila is a seasonal river running through the very centre of Sana'a. As well as acting as an occasional sewer, a short cut for drivers and a football pitch for local children, the open strip provides a contrast to the crowded and heavily built up feel of the old town and a welcome chance to stand back and admire the view. This view of houses on the eastern bank was taken just before sunset, near to the az-Zubayri Street bridge.
